WELCOME TO
YYC Wellness Therapy
Providing mobile services for the communities of the deep SE and SW quadrants of Calgary, as well as home-based clinic services for all of YYC. This wellness practice offers a unique and integrative approach to chronic pain using a combination of manual osteopathic therapy, laser therapy & massage therapy. My goal is to provide treatment and resources to those in YYC suffering from chronic pain, and to advocate and educate clients in preventative health practices.

Kara PrigotzkeOwner, MOT, RMT
If you've been in search of a practitioner that takes your pain as seriously as you do, search no further. My unique approach to chronic pain is multi-faceted. With dual designations and an intense passion for sharing knowledge with others, my aim is to help others get to the root of their problems, inside and out.
I am constantly updating my skill set with two modalities and registrations to uphold, so I am usually always up to something new. I love to provide clients with an educational approach in all that I do and genuinely enjoy catching up on the newest research in the holistic & manual therapy industries. |
Massage was only the beginning
I discovered massage therapy after contemplating
becoming a Physiotherapist. not loving the idea of having to get through a Bachelor's degree prior to discovering whether or not I even liked working hands on with people. I enrolled with Mount Royal College (now a University) and graduated from the Massage Therapy Certificate program at Mount Royal College in 2007. I have worked in spas and clinics, I even did the mobile thing and ultimately decided to open my own home based clinic in 2013. |
I knew I wanted to do more
I began adding to my practice, understanding from my personal health experiences that the power of food and nutrition were a key component in managing the chronic inflammation that fuels most chronic pain conditions. I graduated from the Natural Nutrition Diploma program at Canadian School of Natural Nutrition (CSNN) in 2015 and from there began exploring it's applications and effectiveness amongst my own family and friends in controlling their pain.
|
Then it happened...
I discovered Manual Osteopathic Therapy in 2019, and immediately enrolled in the Manual Osteopathic College of Canada's diploma program, graduating honors with distinction in fall of 2020. During my training with MOCC, I saw a major increase in client relief, especially when it came to chronic pain conditions. It was throughout this program I realized the benefit of being able to combine multiple modalities to address a wide range of chronic pain conditions and symptoms both internally and externally.

I'd love to help you on your journey
Pain is a symptom of something much bigger at play. While we may not be able to reverse your diagnosis, (if you have one) we can begin making positive changes to greatly impact your quality of life day to day

My Resume
Here is a look at my journey so far. I am always adding to my resume to better help my clients & for the overall pursuit of knowledge which I find extremely fulfilling. Currently, I do not actually practice holistic nutrition or dynamic cupping, but the knowledge is always useful for home care and other scenarios. I have also undergone postpartum doula training, not to be a doula but to offer my postpartum clients more effective care especially within the first six weeks after giving birth.
